Drive to Taneja Aerospace
It was another sunday well spent as KVCCC had organised a drive to Taneja aerospace for the VROOM 2019 drag race event. The plan was to meet at Narayana Hrudayala on Hosur Road at 8am and Proceed to A2B near Electronic city for breakfast.
Mr.Suresh in his Morris woody followed by Mr.Srinivasan in his Morris eight ,me in the Fiat super select and Mr.Karthi Kumar in his Citroen were the first to arrive at the Hotel . The other cars joined us quickly and we all had a sumptuous breakfast and were ready for the next leg of the drive.
From here we were led by our secretary Mr.Bala in his magnificient Buick eight. We had a nice smooth drive to the venue with some of us testing the high speed capabilty of our oldies for a short while and quickly fell in line to join the convoy.
We reached the venue around 10:30 am and were given a warm welcome and a Special parking to exhibit our cars. It was a pleasant surprise for the visitors who had gathered to witness the drag race event of the latest super bikes and cars and they were overwhelmed with joy when they saw these timeless beauties and many rushed towards our cars with their cameras and mobiles ready to click them.
All of us were welcomed again and were asked to be seated at the exclusive lounge for KVCCC members to witness the drag race event. Though all our cars are beautiful, the ones which stole the show were the Studebaker dictator of Mr. Naveen, Austin Healey sprite of Mr.Haseeb and the citroen brought by Mr. Karthi kumar. Another thing noteworthy was the participation of Indian classics which included two Hindustan 14s ,Fiat millecento and a Fiat super select, not to forget the enthusiastic two wheeler riders Mr.Kedar on his Lambretta scooter, Mr.Prabhu on his Triumph motorcycle and Mr.Guruprasad on his Royal Enfield.
All of us had a wonderful time witnessing the drag race and an excellent drive and we left the venue around 3pm after having lunch and taking home loads of beautiful memories and eagerness to have another drive shortly.
